Based on Plato’s Republic and inspired by the cyberpunk sci-fi genre, Meta Phys.-Ed’s new show explores the real world consequences of political speech in digital spaces, and the increasing influence of tyrants, techno-authoritarians, and oligarchs.

About Meta-phys ed.
MISSION AND HISTORY:
Meta-Phys Ed. creates original performance works that explore the relationship between religion, spirituality, culture and politics; often drawing inspiration from sacred and classical text. Their work draws from many different performance disciplines including theater, dance and performance art.
Meta-Phys Ed. was founded in 2011 by Jesse Freedman and Rabbi Bronwen Mullin, and it continues to emanate from their shared interest in ancient Jewish text, contemporary forms, and experimental process.
Now under the Artistic Direction of Jesse Freedman, Meta-Phys Ed. is a diverse collaboration of artists and intellectuals. They have presented work at The New Ohio Theater, La MaMa, The Exponential Festival, The NY Fringe, IRT Theater, The Brick, Dixon Place and The Doxsee @ Target Margin Theater. They are recipients of the IRT 3B Development Residency, and a Target Margin Theater Artist Residency.
